Default Heated clothing and alternator output on 999

Although we had a late summer here, it's time for some warmth beyond zipping in the thermal liner. I already run Gerbing gloves at 22 W or so, but if I now add a further 77 W of heated jacket am I stretching the 999 alternator (2006) too far ?

Kind regards,

Velociphile

should be fine, if it does take too much the indicator on the dash will switch to voltage. if it gets less than 12,5 you will be discharging the batery. good system so i doubt it myself

just more of the same old advice... keep it on a battery tender at home. And use good electriacl sence when wiring. No rat's nests and proper guage wiring.

I run my Wider vest on my '99 SS and have for years. No problem at all. The Wider only draws about 40W.

Default Just for the archive.....

77W liner and 22W gloves working.

Voltmeter reads 13.8V at idle.

Just an FYI, the 999 (or any 3 phase charging system) puts out 520W of power. You should be FINE!
