Default ducati 996S prices

hey guys~

I am sure this question has been covered, but i couldn't find anything about the values for a ducati 996S.

I looked at NADA, but i don't know what the 996 and the 996 "special" was. Is this what the 996S values stand for?

And could you also please tell me how much the 996S usually retail for?

SORRY FOR SOME DUMB QUESTIONS, but it will help me a lot. THanks!

okay~i guess my question was sort of hard to understand.

Let me ask another question then...

Is $8000 expensive for a 2000 ducati 996S with 8000 miles?

IMHO.....no...it seems about right. Any upgrades, performance stuff, all maintenance records ...etc ?

However this time of year it may be difficult to get the sale if you are in a snow infested climate......

I would think $8000 would be a good price, assuming all is well with the bike. $9k or even $10k for a really nice example with some CF goodies and no stories, would be a good asking price.

assuming 3-5k miles per year is average (not sure if this works on ducs), mileage is good, according to Motorcycle Consumer News a 2000 996 should be about $7855 and a 996 Special should be $10055

I'd say, yeah, it's a good price, provided the thing isn't beat.

Price is based on what the market will bear. I never consider what the guides say, its what the market at the times say. Ducatis are different that way, there are too many variables that dictate price on them.
