How did you pay? Paypal or a credit card? You might have recourse with the CC, and/or with paypal, if he never sent anything. Can definatly get F'd in ebay though, if the guy says he doesn't do refunds, all sales final except exchanges.....? Shitty, but it's there.

I don't know that much about a carbon fiber fuel tank, but what makes the one he made so bad? I see the pictures of the tank in the first part of this thread, obviously the paint sucks, but thats pretty easy to see.
Do the tanks leak? Do they not fit correctly? What is it?

making tanks like that is not easy and the first one looked bad in spots but come on?
a REAL good tank like everybody seems to want will cost $2000+ not less than a $1000 a good, light carbon race tank to paint they look fine, a great show piece tank all OEM should be $2000k i know as i am making one now and they are hard and time consuming to make

the black list is a great idea and dont bother trying to get money back you lost on fenders/gastanks etc. just learn from it and move on. you get what you pay for. and if motocristo has a problem with me thinkin his carbon is hammered horse sh*t ill be in new york in 4 months to pick up a motor. so if he is kind enough to give me an address where i can stop by and check his product ill post if i was wrong about it.
I won the auction for a so-called Carbon tank and it IS a piece of crap! See details:
Pump mount base is out of round and will not seal, also not tapered to seal against O-ring - Screw holes are filled with resin and not in correct position - interior has gobs of resin and fiberglass that did create leaks - weave is wild and not correctly spliced at seams - underside of tank is fiberglass dyed black with resin tinted black on top of that - scratches from sanding rough edges and not filled or even close to presentable - runs along both sides and front from brushing resin (runs are flowing upside down) -household waterline used for interior vent line (this is supposed to be fuel grade rubber hose for submersion) - and the resin was still wet and not fully cured upon arrival after 4 weeks of waiting and ridiculous excuses.
The photos are all filtered so you don't see the actual low quality and surface flaws that would normally show with a decent camera. I shipped the tank back to what could be the commercial address (32-12 82nd Street East Elmhurst, NY) after filing a claim with Paypal (and winning but not getting all of my money back yet, due to him draining his account right before Paypal froze his account).
Bottom line, this guy is a CROOK and if you look at all his posts, both here and in public (even in his auctions he's calling out people by their full name) you'll see he NEVER addresses the real issue, he never admits directly to selling crap, and he has had the same M.O. for the past 5-7 years that I've seen in public record (only after the fact did this come to my attention). eBay Motors: Ducati Monster Carbon fiber Windscreen ~ No Reserve ! ~ (item 200162176485 end time Oct-18-07 07:41:08 PDT)
Stay away from this guy, unless you absolutely don't care about getting conned, and don't care about waiting forever to get some of the worst parts for your bike. Well said DT996!!! - you are spot on with all about the tank (and all about motoboy), dunno about yours but the upper shell on mine was ONE SINGLE SKIN!!!! You could see daylight through the "DUCATI" logo between the weave!!!
I'm about to donate my tank to a good cause for Xmas & that good cause posts here regularly, I'm sure there will be more said upon receipt! (You know who you are & sorry again for the delay!!!)
So to all those above who say the tanks don't look too bad - they are, and then some, and then some more... one single skin, I dunno...
