What is the headlight bulb type on the 999?

I'm looking at upgrading the lighting and was hoping someone could help me out, so I don't have to remove the bulbs to figure out the type. I tried searching, but no luck. Is it an H3 or H4 bulb?

Probably not. The 999 owners manual is the biggest waste of a tree and ink I have ever saw. Do you know what it said about the chain adjustment procedure? Take it to the dealer! Arses.

I think that it is in the manual, but I don't have access to it today.

I just took this from the online manual on Ducati.com

front headlamp featuring two halogen lamps, consisting
of the following:
HB3 12V-60W low beam unit;
HB3 12V-60W high beam unit;

I checked my manual and found a discrepancy. I don't believe that it's an H4 bulb, since they have both high and low beam filaments in the same bulb....which doesn't make sense on the 999....



oh well, guess they screwed up the manual. I won't it against them since they got the bike right!

Is HB3 the same as H3?

I didn't see HB3 at the local Can Tire store

It's a 9005 60W bulb. If you pull off the instrument cluster, you can see the bulb with the 9005 marked on it. Hope this helps.
