Default Ohlins R&T forks

I know the aftermarket R&T Ohlins forks are longer than the stock Ducati Ohlins. Does anyone know what the baseline starting point is? That would be lines showing on the inside of he upper triple plate on a 996. I run about 235mm from on top on the nut on the rear using the ride hieght tool. I think my front my be to low as it was pushing/plowing some the last track day. I run the 24.5 angle. Any suggestions to try?

They're supposedly 20 mm longer than OE Ohlins (I've never actually measured the difference), so you want quite a bit of fork showing above the clamps. I have it from well-placed sources that if you support the front end with the forks extended and the wheel removed, you should measure 675 mm from the top of the steering head (the top of the painted outer housing) to the bottom of the front axle, with the 24.5-degree rake. With the Ohlins R&T and stock clamps I think this works out to like 9-10 lines showing at the outside of the top clamp, where the longest length of fork is visible.

You might want to verify that you have clearance at maximum fork compression with this setup - I know one guy who overdid it and pushed his front tire into his fairing under heavy braking. You can do this by carefully removing the fork caps so you can lift the front end to maximum travel (with the wheel installed) without compressing the springs.

Your rear ride height sounds ballpark normal.

i have 6 lines showing on mine. this is the furthest i can go without hitting the fairing at fully compress. it feels very good with plenty of feedback on braking. no complaints here.
