Default New Suit

just bought this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...WA:IT. But gosh darn does it suck breaking it in! I suppose food shopping in the suit is a bit ambitious.

How do you like it? I heard that this is the same basic suit as the Ducatii Scudetto.

BLATANT THREAD HIJACK

It seems a lot of folks are getting new suits: That’s one of the many reasons I’m still pissed about binning my bike ...my kick-ass old pterodactyl leather suit got shredded. With those things, it was like putting on a pair of pajamas.... not that I wear PJs anymore. OK...well.... if I see a real scary movie, like Finding Nemo, I might put on my Superman PJs so I feel safe.

Question: I’ve heard guys break-in their new suit by getting it wet and wearing it until it dries in an attempt to get a more custom fit: wet leather stretches where it needs to and shrinks where it’s loose. I know we did that back in the day with our new dirt-bike racing boots, but I’ve never tried it with a suit.

Have you guys ever heard of that or do you think it’s just another bullshit “urban myth”?

I am pretty sure that wetting leather is a bad thing

from motoport.com
"Each time leather gets wet and dries it looses up to 20% of it's tear and abrasion strength."
Now it may not be so drastic a loss but I think the idea is plausible.
I'd say just wear it a lot, it'll break in.

I believe it is the same model suit. That is one nice suit you are selling- with that much recently invested you may want to consider hiting the gym!

I must be missing someting. I have had two Dainese safety pro suits and there wasn't any break-in at all.

I am like a stuffed sausage in a 56. I found that Under Armor is great stuff since you don't stick to the nylon lining in the suit.

Hey socal. I've been working out like crazy.....12 ounces at a time. Seriously, it seems since hitting the 40 year hump two years ago I have gained about 12 pounds. I run about 20 miles a week and lift weights three times a week. I have gained some upper body muscle mass, but the extra 5 lbs on my belly just won't go. I also bought that suit a year after breaking my wrist and had lost some weight not being able to lift weights, but running a lot to make up for it. This aging crap sucks, but it beats the alternative.

I look even more like a sausage with just the Under Armour on!
