Default For those with TechnoResearch software.

I currently own the TechnoReasearch Diagnostic software Pro version Magneti-Marelli which is comparable to the Mathesis.
I just spoke to one of the tech support guys at TechnoResearch. They will have a single and dual WO2 contoller available to go with the Diagnostics and Direct link software io be released in a month according to our conversation today. It's currently listed under the accessories for the Direct link software.

You can download the software from the web site for free, However TechnoResearch software requires a hardware key to work. They covered the copyrights.

Parrallel port hardware key? I used to crack those in college for people!

Give it to me for a week and I will reverse engineer it and make copies for $20 a piece for everyone who's interested. Then sell them to people from my bogus paypal account.

Wait, did I say that out loud? No I won't! I would NEVER do that.

we have one of the mdst that we got as a mv tool from the importers for a lot of money before we realised what it was. it's for 1.6m, and i'm not sure what else - p8, etc - because i never tried. i've downloaded their later software and will try that on the later ones. but i expect they will still sell the 16m stuff.

Here's the list - it's real interesting that there is or will be an external WBO option for this kit. I'm going to call and find out if it's available already and whether there is a multi WBO option for both cylinders. They're just down the road from me, which is cool...

The wide band O2 controller for the VDSTS has been released. I should be receiving it any day. It's a plug and play option for the diagnostic software from TechnoResearch. A/F readings along with RPM, TPS, PW, Spark, Air temp, Engine temp, Baro, Batt voltage If I received it in time for my track day this saturday @ Jennings GP I'll post some feedback.

So the big question is. Will it be a Direct-Link Race Performance Kit for ECU 5.9?
This with reflashing the ECU with my own maps are something I would like to be able to do by my self.

No, I spoke with them this morning - the Direct-link for the 5.9M is not yet available, so you can only log data with the Scan tool and Wideband controller and set the fuel trims, etc - not reflash the fuel maps (yet)

I have a 998 and purchased the VDST software and use it on a Palm PDA. I cannot seem to get the TPS Reset feature to work. It fails everytime I use it. I have tried it with the throttle all the way open and all the way closed. I perform the test right after the key is turned on and after the fuel pump stops priming. All the other tests work fine. Has anyone experienced this? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think you "reset" the TPS using software on your bike. I know I don't on mine. I use the Techno tool to read/check the TPS and adjust it by hand. The 999/749 I believe are different.

Spoke with Giamberto Scaccia (Technoresearch Director of Engineering) - he will sell a VDSTS Lite version for data logging (no error code resets) with Wideband sensor, controller for $99 + $495 (VDSTS + WBC) - this setup has the advantage of being able to log EVERY parameter the ECU puts-out - including injector pulse width, voltage, TPS, RPM, air temp, air pressure, etc, etc - just by plugging it in, with no wiring harness or splicing required.

The biggest issue is that the WBC does not connect through the VDSTS, but rather in parallel with the SDSTS into a laptop via a second serial connection - which means you need a computer with TWO serial connections, and I think there could potentially be a problem with syncing between the WBC and the other parameters (even if it was fractions of a second, it could be significant).

BTW - Zeitronix replied to my query of a PDA version of their nice compact WBC system with a "'we're working on it - check back in 3 weeks" message - which, at $279 would be the cheapest solution with full data logging that I have found.

998 uses the older non-linear TPS, which is set to an absolute position with the throttle blades dead shut, then reset to a specific opening for idle. The TPS reset function is only relevant to linear-TPS models such as 800SS, 749/999, MTS.
