Default heat issue??????????????

When installing a gp radial master and relocating the reservoir do you guys see any heat issues using a clear 3/8" line from master to reservoir?

Thanks

I can't see any heat issues but finding clear tubing material that is compatible with brake fluid (i.e. doesn't sweat) is a problem. The only source I know of is Yoyodyne, and they're not telling what material it is.

I have used clear line to bleed my brakes and clutch. The line has been laying around the garage for a couple of years with brake fluid in most of it and it looks fine to me. I don't see any deterioration

Why would you want to bet your life on it? 'Cause that's exactly what you are doing.
Just use the proper part for the application...my

You'll find that the clear tube hardens after a long time. We use it at work to bleed brakes and have to replace every year

Not riding?? You're in Arizona, man!!

I just moved from Mesa back to upstate NY last spring. I'm watching it drop another 3 to 4" of powder as I write this, and I'm about to call BCM Ducati to wrap up the details on a new 2004 749S. Now I gottsta figure a way to get it here! Snow, ya'll, lots of it!

And you're not riding...!

I remember reading in a book titled, Racer's Encyclopedia of Metals, Fibers & Materials about materials compatible with brake fluid. I'll have to look it up when I get home from work.

At this point, all I can recall is that I was surprised at what ISN'T compatible.

Edit: Here's a chart I just came across:

http://www.efunda.com/designst...Fluid

It's for brake fluid/o-ring material compatibility, but I would think the same would apply to hose material.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any of those materials in the chart are transparent.

Hey Brettmess, do you have to relocate the reservoir to install the GP Master Cylinder? I just got a set of Brake Tech Axis iron rotors and may upgrade the Master Cylinder too.

yes you do but its really easy, I used the stock bracket and bent it a little and thats why I need new tubbing for the reservoir. I can post a pic if you decide to do it.

If your getting those BT rotors then you HAVE to get the radial master.

I have to get get the radial master? The only thing I have to get is a cold beer now. But I probably will get a Radial Master. What did you get, the 19X20 or the 19X18? I will ask for a pic. If you want you could post one now or e-mail one to me at chmanning@mac.com

The Brake Tech's go on this weekend. Now if only Spring would hurry up and get here.
