Default Base gaskets for setting squish?

Couldn't find any info on where to get different thickness base gaskets for 748's to adjust squish.

Anyone have any links?

Thx all.

you need anything in the small big black stud spacing. and it depends on how thick your 748 is std - they got thicker somewhere around there.

on the softway you can look in 916sp or 748 racing/sps/rs and any of them will work.

does yours have fibre or steel head gaskets?

Your dealer can look up the thickness options availiable. He may need to go to the 748RS to find all the availiable gaskets. I have had Cometic make me custom gaskets when the options from Ducati were not sufficant.

We have a ton of base gaskets arround. Measure yours and let me know what it is and how much less you want. I will dig some up. Or you can take them out

Thanks Jason - I think mine is 0.4MM (from the parts manual), but I will measure them and the current squish and give you a call with the thickness. I'm assuming the squish clearance on this stock motor will require a gasket rather than a sealant only to get to my 0.95MM squish goal, but I'm still learning this Duc stuff!

BTW - do you have a range of OE cam timing woodruff keys in stock as well (or a nice used set of adjustable pulleys for 748/916?)

the earlier engines with the fibre head gaskets had 0.3 or 0.4mm base gaskets and 1.3mm head gaskets. if you run the later shim head gaskets (0.5mm thick) you can run the same or even thicker base gaskets from later bikes.

softway is the ducati electronic parts catalogue. they must be a software company who do that stuff as the mv/cagiva one is the same system.
