Re: Windscreens for 748/916... (section8superbike)
oooo, i might hit you up on that jason. just to be absolutly sure, the corse follows the line of the nose right? there's no unsightly extra "bulge" like some of the other tall windscreens, right?

They look like the ones at the top of the post on the yellow bike

The flood-gates of heaven seem to have opened up on SoCal the past few weeks. I've been riding everyday to/from the shop, rain or shine. Need to get me some good rain-gear...
On the yellow bike above, the top 2 pics are of the Ducati Performance large windshield (part # 969154AAA), the bottom 2 pics are of the genuine Ducati Corse shield as used on the factory race bikes (part # 96935102B).
The genuine Corse shield is the one to go for!
And the mounting holes do line up OK with the stock fairing.

This is what it says on the MotoWheels web-site about the Corse:
Ducati Performance tall corse race screen. Fits 748, 916, 996, 998. This is the windscreen designe used in WSBK. Slightly higher than the tall Ducati windscreen. Much taller than the standard. Designed to fit the CF race farings, the base is slightly different--so you may need to slot the holes on the windscreen when using this windscreen on OEM plastic farings.
I guess we need to play with the mounting a little then?

Cycle Gear sells the Puig windscreens. I checked them out down at the local store and I wasn't impressed at all. When you look through them at an angle they are so distorted it's ridiculous. I can't even imagine trying to look through the screen when you're tucked in...
I have a Zero Gravity "Sport Touring" screen on my 998, and it works very well. Optically perfect, and much better wind protection than stock. It's not quite as "cool" looking as the Corse screen, though. The Corse is more bubble-shaped, where the Z-G screen has kind of a "kick-up" at the top edge.
