Default Those with DP rearsets on 749/999

I can't get any pics till Monday but have nothing to do, so... post up pics of DP rearsets on their 749/999... i'm curious to see how they were mounted, because mine don't fit.. I'm told that the hole needs to be enlarged a little, but i don't see it fitting in either way even if the hole is enlarged...

help a bored bruther out. its new years eve, and i don't have shit to do.

yes my life is boring, and on top of that my alarm got drenched on the bike and now doesn't work (DOH i should have waterproofed it) because i was in pouring rain today (its got lifetime warranty though so i'm covered).

but hey, at least i'm riding the duc around.

Ok, here is my problem...

see that notched area in the frame? that's what's in the way. if i grin the frame, i'll have to take about 1/4" off, if I grind the rearset, I'll cut into the 2nd hole and am afraid it'll make it weaker.

Post away!

I didn't realize you had a Dark, I will send you a pic of the rearsets on my bike, I had to grind them the same way to work on the "R" frame.

hmm, dark frame is different?? that's odd, i thought 749/749 dark was the same frame?

or is the 749dark and 999R same frame?? (don't i wish..).

what's up with the changes anyway, the adjustable rearsets don't come until the S, no?

a pic of how you grinded them would be great, if that's what needs to be done then that's what needs to be done. i'm 190lb, think they'll still support my heavy ass?

spawn_x,

Looks like you got a wrong rearsets. That looks like more for the 916 bike.

He knows that. We use the 916 style rearsets on the new bikes. Granted they need to be modded a little, but they work great and the whole world has spares.

The dark only has one mount spot for teh rearsets, the S has a bunch, 999 has a bunch. But the R only has two posistions so the rearsets need to be modded quite a bit for those also. I will be going to the ship this afternoon, I will get you some shots then.
