Default 749 Power Upgrades

What power upgrades are there for a 749 (dark)?

I currently have the termi system and next upgrade is a PCIII to get the AFR down to 12-13. Right now its at 15-16 and I'm putting out about 96-97rwhp

the 853 kit - can it be done on the 749?

what about bumping the compression up some?

please don't advise "get a 999" - i don't have the extra money nor do i want to later on sell the bike and get a 999 - too much loss for me..

Thanks guys

the bcm pistons are 100mm bore, the same as a 999. with the 749 crank it gives 924cc. the biggest bore you can realistically go on a 916 is 96mm, but some kits require you bore the cases for that. a 996 is the same stroke as a 916, but 98mm bore. you can get 95mm pistons for a 916 from bcm too without boring the cases. this gives 936cc, but you need to bore and replate your original cylinders.

if you fit a 900ss/st2 crank to a 916 you get 944cc. with 95mm bore you'd get 964cc. with 96mm bore you'd get 984cc. really, with the old engine there's lots of different options.

I'm interested in this as well. I'm very seriously looking at picking up an '05 749s and this would be the logical next step..

I would like to know some general info.. ballpark torque gains, etc. Required work to implement the kit... Cost doesnt matter so much to me because i would expect every owner to have different tuning costs for their individual tastes...

Hey that Fox racing looks good! You can also try Mark Sutton at the Ducshop.

I just talked to BCM.

The kit is a 920cc with 11.5:1. $1195 retail, 8 hours labor. Sounds like a 12hp gain

Thats a lot of bang for the buck!

Hey gtoast, ready to get yours done? I can get you right in
