LCD Backlight is out

Tonight when I started up my bike, I noticed that the lcd screen was no longer backlit. I didn't see anything in the manual in regards to replacing the bulb. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Welcome to the club. Mine went out last year and according to BCM it's an LED that cannot be replaced. The new display is... hundreds of dollars.

BCM seemed to believe that someone will offer a service to open up the defective display and replace the burned out LCD. But so far I haven't found a source. Maybe you and I should just pull them apart and do it ourselves?

I was thinking I'd buy a new display, install it, and then experiment on the old one. But since I rarely ride after dark I've been in a holding pattern on this one. If you find anything else out, please let me know.

I'm going up to BCM tomorrow anyway, so I'll see if there are any new developments. I also don't ride too much at night, so it may not be that pressing. I'm gonna need tires soon, and there's a track day coming up, and, hmm, an open airbox and ecu upgrade would be nice. I gotta hide my wallet!
