Default Decisions?

I need some Help! I am trying to make a decision on another bike. I have had most sport bikes such as gsxr1k,etc. I currently have an 888 and recently picked up an 907ie but it is in need of a lot of work, so it will be a project for a while. So to my problem, I was out riding the 888 today, and love it but it is time to find something more for just going out for a ride. I am looking for something more comfortable with a more upright seat and a little lower pegs. The 907 seating seems more in the realm of what I am looking for. I have not riden any other bike of this type other then paso's. I would like to find something capable of pretty spirtited two riding as well as capable of a fair amount of bagage. So far I seem to be focasing my research on the ST, as well as the r and k bwm's but I just dont know much about this type of bikes. I know there are a lot of people on here that have both so I am hoping to get some options and maybe some other sugestions. One thing I might ad is I do like the power of a stronge engine.
Thank you!

Try the ST2,3, or 4...I think they would fill the bill.

That is what I was thinking with regards to ducati. But which one? I do like the 2v motors. But I also love the power of the 4v! Obviously I guess that is why they built the 3v. So what are the pros and cons of the ST2,3 and 4?

The 4 is a higher revving motor and makes it's power higher up the powerband. Plus 4 valve head means higher maintance costs.
The 2 is lower revving and has the torque curve lower in the powerband...but..does not make as much hp.
I have a 99 ST2 with 50k miles....I LOVE IT!!!...I considered putting the big bore kit in it for more torque ( I've ridden one set up this way and it is nice),,but spent $$ elsewhere (748 trackbike).
My ST has been basically trouble free. Save for a warranty problem with contaminated coolant that was taken care off.
I've ridden this bike 2-up for maybe half the miles and have taken it to the track. The valves have needed adjustment maybe 4 times. The more miles these bikes have the less they need valve adjustments..I go 12k between adj. now.
I never take the bags off and I have a Ventura rack sys to supplement them for long trips.
I get 12k miles from Mich Pilot Roads.
The older ones need new seats...I've tried Corbin but now use Sargent.
The ST3 is a comparmise betwn the two....
Local dealer is selling ST3's (05) for $10,300
I think you can't go wrong with a ST

Is there any other color then red??
Well I do like the black of my 907!!
I do like the 2 valves. I will have to try and get some time on an ST3, I am sure there are some demos around.
I wonder if the ST2 engine will go in the 907? There is an idea! an ST2 powered 907 for running around and an ST3 for the long rides!

Depending on the year. There was red, blue, black, matte black, silver..and I think yellow.

Don't bother with the engine swap....just find a used ST2...you'll probably never want to ride the 907... BTW: I have a 88 Paso also.
