Default Multistrada 620 Operating Temperature

I just got the 2006 MST 620 and was wondering what is considered the normal riding temp. I am still in the breaking in process, and while riding around on side streets its hitting 220, on the freeway during the day it got close to 240-250. What is considered getting hot?

Thanks
Jeff

Default Temps

Red Jeff, I was about to ask the same question and saw yours here. Just got my first Ducati, a MS 1000. Has been broken in w/ 900 miles but I wasn't sure what a normal temp was. Saw 230's go by several times and thought it seems pretty warm. What a great bike tho. Good grief it rides good. Last bike was a '79 KZ 1000 all bored out and this makes it seem slow.

New poster of this board. Will probably have a few questions down the road far as maintanance. Leave word if 230 degrees is too hot for these bikes if you think of it. Something tells me it's ok though.

Default Max heat for MTS620

My manual says the display will go up to 338F before starts blinking 'HI' rather than the temprature. Presumably that is when bad things start happening.

A friend of mine hit 250+ in 100 degree weather going up a pass trying to keep up with water cooled Ducs.

Default temp

Yeah, the operating temperature can easilty range between 200 deg F and 250 deg F. Remember that the 620 is aircooled. I run at sea level in California and the highest i've seen my temp go up to is just over 270 deg F
