Does anyone who owns a MS want to give us the drift on these bikes??
You are either riding thousands of wonderful miles and have no time to chat or you are totally ashamed of them and wonna bottle it up.....or ...a remote possibilty that you broke it and don't wonna tell anyone..........
Re: Hello.....Hello.....Man This Room Is Empty (kell749)
Sorry,
Been way too busy riding. Just returned from 11 days in the Rockies. Rode the multi over many high mountain passes and many twisties. I'll post some pics.
BTW, the mult is big fun in twisties passing rver's uphill on mountain passes. Torque is awesome, roll-on gain is very quick. Handling is nimble even with my touring bags on.

Not good enough , Heya Nero, did you get the S or the standard one?
Things to look out for?, seating etc?
Re: Hello.....Hello.....Man This Room Is Empty (Monstaman)
Monsta,
they didn't yet have the s when i bought mine last year. you can find more forum chatter on these bikes at multistrada.net. they're mostly brits and assorted euros (so you'll feel at home...just kidding), but they know a lot about their bikes and from what i can gather the s is only marginally better than the base bike.
I don't think the extra money is too much for the s, especially when you look at comparable bikes like bmw's. I did not see another multistrada in the rockies despite passing thousands of other bikes. I did see a ton of bmw's & a few other ducs. Mine is very nimble and extremely torquey. It's like putting street tires on my crf450.
Re: Hello.....Hello.....Man This Room Is Empty (Nero)
FYI - Those with a MTS or thinking about getting one hang out at http://www.multistrada.net. My guess is about 50% Euro, 30% US, 10% Australia/New Zealand, 10% Asia and rest of the world. I just completed a 1,000 trip to do some white water rafting in WV. The bike is very athletic - sure footed and a blast in the twisties. It is a good compromise for those looking for a versatile bike with good range. IMHO, definitely not for the track or off-road.
Re: Hello.....Hello.....Man This Room Is Empty (nickybcareful)
Monstaman,
Do not fear the "funnies"...about the only relevant snivel is the grossly innacurate fuel guage. Ignore that, use the trip odo, and the bike is stellar. Oh yeah, learn to turn your head instead of trusting in the mirrors, but you already own ducs so I don't have to tell you about that.
Re: Hello.....Hello.....Man This Room Is Empty (nickybcareful)
good to see some chatter in the 'strada section. it was still the most surprising duc i've ever ridden. i mean, you pretty much know what you're getting when you jump on a 999, this thing however was a blast. can't wait to get one as a next bike. just have to get married, start paying school loans back, and buy a house..... (all that madness starts in september...)
but someday!
i lurk around on multistrada.net some just to see the mods. i'm looking to see someone pop a monster light on one and strip the fairing, making a naked multi. defeats the touring edge i know but then again, so do all after market pipes!
Re: Hello.....Hello.....Man This Room Is Empty (Monstaman)
dang monstaman, that is HOT! gotta be one of superleggera's creations yeah? or did you do this one yourself? either way, i think these bikes have a whole world of modification that's waiting. just the unique geometry alone could create some wicked street fighters.
as for the 25 years of fun.... at least she rides too!
Re: Hello.....Hello.....Man This Room Is Empty (monarc)
BTW, these bikes will go anywhere (and do) . I would not take mine on jeep trails, but the occasional graded dirt road won't kill them. Here's proof...
Re: Hello.....Hello.....Man This Room Is Empty (Nero)
Cool pics Nero, bloody high......where is the bike?, I thought the MS was gonna be featured.
Monarc, yeah I love the look of that, not my work tho I am untalented at photoshop, if they looked a little more like that I would be keener, sorry Nero but I just can't quite come to terms with the front yet.
I love naked streetfighters, one the MH is back on the road we will look for a two seater, thought about a M900s or M1000s, may get one that has done some off roading and make a super Alien Monsta, dunno yet.
