Default I'm A New Papa....S4Rs Tricolore

Rode my new S4Rs home yesterday. Completely stock. Full Termi DP system on order. Recon I'll remove the vapor can and relocate the horn today.

Where is best place to hang the horn?

What temp does water temp readout switch to flashing "hot"? I was in stop n go about 10 minutes and it went from last look 245* to "hot" so I pulled over in the shade and let her cool for 10 minutes. Most of the 100 miles I put on her the temp has been between 215 and 230.

Love the riding position. Need to adjust ride height and dial in suspension of both ends. Can't wait for termis.

thanks

Congrats...

Get that suspension setup for you. Springs in the front or the back, they rarely work together (why ducati...why?)

That seems HOT to me. I ride here in GA, it's in the 90's during the day and I've yet to see the fan ever kick on, temp has gotten up around 195 once or twice, but thats it.

Defintely too hot unless you were sitting in traffic for a long time. Might want to have the dealer check the cooling system and make sure it was properly set up before delivery.

OK, I took it to dealer and they checked it out and said it was low coolant. It's funny because the overflow bottle was correctly showing between lines. They added coolant and started it up and sat at idle untill fan kicked on at 218*F. It idled for awhile and stayed at 220. I rode it around the block simulating stop and go and it never got over 222. Ride home it settled down to 188 - 190.

Anyone think the first ride overtemp may have hurt anything? As soon as it flashed HOT I stopped and let it cool.

GA for me too and never had the fans come on. In fact I'm impressed with how cool the S4RS rides. My RC51 would have been on fire in the GA heat!

Sounds like a air blockage so you could have the dealer bleed the system. Hopefully no permanent damage but obviously not good for a brand new tight engine.
