Default M900 gearing?

Has anyone swapped out their stock gearing and gone up to 40T/41T rear? If so
who likes what? Monster is in dire need of new chain and sprockets, looking to bump
up a few teeth in the rear. Also what chains is anyone running, VM series? Thanks

15/41 is a popular gear for the monsters, It gives you better take off around town and in traffic. Your top speed is still 125MPH. The chain to use is the D.I.D 520erv X-ring. Have fun.

i've experimented with 39 (stock i think) 40 and 41 tooth rear always using a 15 up front. even with extensive mods that i've done to the motor/carbs/exhaust the 41 seems to be best. you can ride in town in 2nd gear at low speed instead of revving the piss out of it in 1st and making a bunch of noise. i can still pull 140 (on my speedo anyway) in 6th.
i like it the 41 rear best.

15/41 here and liking it. Nice around town & not too buzzy on the highway.
