depends on the bike you've got...
if you've got an '02+ bike, the DP ecu's aren't worth it in my oppinion. the fuel maps provided aren't optimal from what i've seen and they cost an arm and a leg. for the '02+ bikes, the stock ECU can be tweeked a reasonable amount with the mathesis tester at your local duc-shop for about an hour's labor with good results for typical slip-ons/airbox mods... if you really want to dial it in, then yep... get a powercommander. they're reliable for the most part and very versitile with the fuel maps.
if you've got an '01 or earlier bike, then i'd vote for an FIM chip or a reflash of your stock chip with an FIM map. not extraordinarily expensive and quality quality stuff.
