Default I found a great Monster, maybe.

I'm looking for a road/track bike and I found this used 900 Monster with a 955 BBK and TONS of blings on it including a Ohlins fron end and shock, primo ones. It has titanium bits and pieces, cyclecay top triple tree and TONS of goodies. The only thing is that is has 40,000 miles on it and it shows. The front end could be anodized and the wheels should be refinished. I mean, it really shows it's age. The guy wants ten grand. Wadda ya think? Is it worth it? Phil

Seems high but without seeing it I really can't say. Ask yourself what it would take to put used Ohlins on a regular monster. I guessing about 2500 max. It should have a 944 kit if aircooled so not sure about 955 how the 955. I can think of some nice 5k monsters that I could spend 2k that would be really nice.

10K? The guy is smoking crack. The bike without the Ohlins is worth 3500-4000 tops with all those miles. You get maybe half of what you paid for the ohlines so another 1200. That's it.

used parts are just that- used! No way you get what you put into it, that's the law on selling vehicles. Well, it should be the law. The guy could maybe strip all that off, put it back to stock, get more for the stock bike than the modified and sell all the parts separate, but no way can you expect all your invetsment back when you sell. Offer him $6k and be done

$10k? No way. I'd say $6k, or $7k if you really want the bike. You can get a pretty nice bike for $10k. You could even get a new 1000cc S2R. Spend about $1500 on that bike putting an Ohlins rear on and Ohlins internals in front and you've got a much better bike for not much more.

He pulled the bike out of the shop because he couldn't get his price. It was worth 7. Phil
