Default Monsters on the highway?

Any input on how well an S2R or even a 620 would or could be made to work on the highway? The wife has her eye on one since it sits low and light.
Personally I wished she felt more comfortable with the 620 Multi since it has much better wind protection for a four to five thousand mile ride.
Otherwise it's put the ST4S in the pickup out to the fun roads and put her on the back.

Rachel did @96K+ miles on her 750Monster. Recently did an 8500 miles on her new S2R in visiting 48 states in 8.5 days. See http://www.tigerracing.net. She runs an older Monster City front fairing and Aprilia offroad handguards on both. Surprisingly effective wind protectin when I rode her M750 a few years ago on a blustery day. Both parts could be easily removed in about ten minutes if required.

Multi obviously has a bit more coverage. But the seat height is quite a bit taller than a Monster. (The Multi seat is horrible plank to sit on long distance) Monster is a bit more traditional/racy looking -- and it appeals to woman (that ones that I know at least) quite a bit more than the Multi. Thus it might get used more on a regular basis. Monster has better resale given the few used Multi's that I've seen listed.

Just my two cents...

I needed a 'commuting' vehicle and the Monster 620 fit the bill for me. I just passed 20,000 miles; ALL highway (in 2 years)
The bike rides like a charm on the highway. Comfortable cruising speed is anywhere from 75 mph to 90 mph, with still enough umph to pass at 110 mph if required. Yes, there is some wind buffeting at higher speeds when behind large vehicles, but a non-issue at 75-85 mph. The previous post's comment about the lower seat is true; she may be more comfortable on this one. I believe that also the a newer model Monsters, 2004 onward, now have descent mirrors, and one can look passed the shoulders.
In all fairness, I have not yet ridden a Multistrada, but have never regretted my choice of the baby Duc.

i think the SR2 would be cool. The 600 seems a bit little in engine size. I have M900 and its not too bad on the highway, though a steering damper is a must!

I own both the 620ie and an St4s. The 620 rocks for little 300 mile rides at almost any speed under 115, the St4s is the machine for highway speeds. The 620 runs hot at 5000 rpm and really does not like sustained 80mph + at long distance, though at shorter distances will take it. The 620 is by far my favorite ride of either and I am 6'2" tall and weigh 195.
Take it for what it's worth, the 620 rocks.

You could mount an aftermarket fairing to help protect her from the wind a little.
