Low fuel light

I tried to do a search on this but I came up with nothing except chunks of the RC51 forum (am I the only one having a hard time with the search function on this site?).

2000 M900ie

My low fuel light is on despite the level in the tank. I know this has been an issue here and there but I can't find any discussions on it. How much of a PITA are these to replace? My bike (bought second hand) only has 975 miles on it but when I picked it up the fuel level was very low - maybe the sending unit is stuck? What do these run?

Mine doesn't work so at least yours lights.

I did some digging around on the DML and the two options were to replace it or unplug it. I plan on replacing it but unplugged it temporarily and the fuel pump wouldn't prime without the sender connected. Interesting.

I was hoping something was stuck on it and yesterday when I was doing the new-owner tune-up I tried to find a float but there doesn't seem to be one. FOOEY!!
