I talked to a metalurgist and he said to me being Chromoly as long as it was not quenched cold while hot all I have done is stress relieved it, the swing arm, again he said if it has not melted or deformed it is good to go.

I am of coarse taking his word on this, he said a good said blast and paint/powdercoat and it will be fine, the swingarm would need re-anodizing.

That is what the dude said, to quote, "If the aluminium has not deformed or melted then its structural integrity should remain unaltered"

I hope he is right...afterall that is his job.

I don't know this for a fact; however, I remember a previous discussion where a couple Ducati fabricators (ala Norm and someone else) commented the frames were not chromoly as previously believed. Rather, just plain old mild steel. Andi - you may want to investigate that a little more.

Thanks Tripleduck, with that I mind I will cast it to the main forum to see if anyone there can confirm or deny, so by my belief if it is the same for mild steel as well, no problem if not quenched?
