Default Monster 1000S

Rode a Monster 1000S as a courtesy bike today whilst my own bike was being serviced.

Just like to say it rocked!

I rode the supersport 1000DS last year with this engine, I believe that the engine is put to far greater use in the monster. I love the relative unfussy mechanics of the lump compared to the testastretta, and the way it gets up and goes, and oh boy it went.... just wish i could have put it on the track yesterday, but being a courtesy bike, i dont think they would have been too impressed if i had returned it with threadbare tyres

My apologies for reopening an older thread.

Just to let yoy know that I am selling my 749 now...

I have me next bike choice down to 2 now...
Monster (probably 1000ds as i like the simpler looks of the air cooled),
or multistrada.

am leaning towards monster very slightly now due to the many many parts available to modify it.

Why are you looking to go from your 749 to a Monster or Multistrada? (I'm thinking about going the other way)

For on street comfort mainly, the 749 is a great bike, dont get me wrong, but i thoroughly enjoyed the monster

Yeah, I think that the SBK is a torture rack on the street. A monster can get you most of the performance with a lot more comfort. How often do you get wring out all of a SBK's performance on the street anyway?
