Default base gasket replacement

Need to know what all is involved in replacing the base gasket on a 750 monster. It's the vertical cylinder that's giving us problems.

Wondering what tools are needed and what not. If there is an online how to that would be great....

We're worried that we won't be able to get this done in a weekend and will be stuck...

thing is, we use our bikes on a daily basis to get back and forth to class and work around here....if absolutely necessary we can do without a bike, but we try our best to not have to....

what tools are required and how long does this job take? for someone who has never worked on a duc motor but who has experience working on various other motors....installing superchargers, etc....

tia!

You can do it in a few hours with basic tools. The only special tool you'll need is to torque the head bolts when you're done. You can email me directly if you need any more help. motomaxy@yahoo.com

There is a pretty in depth thread going on the DML right now about this very topic that Norm and other wrenchs have wrote a small book with advice.

interesting - it's funny to see the guy posting some of the questions that he is posting....it's like he's never worked on a motor in his life....some of those questions make me worry about his motor once it's put back together!

lol

thanks for the heads up!

I've bookmarked the thread to keep an eye on it!

If that guy can do it, we sure as hell can...lol
