Default New Monster.................to me

Just want to show off my new monster and say hello.
Its a 97 with a 2001 FI motor with some high comp pistons. Custom pipes by Ben Fox. I need to get some stiffer springs for the forks and I just ordered some FBF rear sets.

Yeah its all Bens work. It's actually his bike that I bought. I never knew that you can make these Monsters so fast.

I agree those pipes are cool I just hope I don't dump it because I'll have a hard time replacing them

Do you guys have any recommendations on front mini fairings for the monster. I was also thinking about a small belly pan

BTW is the seat supposed to fit like that?

looks like you have a seat from an older m900 with a newer gas tank or vice-versa. something is off though that's for sure.
check e-bay for fairings. there are many choices. i'm currently putting a carbon fibre Buell Blast fairing on the Hotrod M944. (i hope it doesn't make my bike leak oil and vibrate ) i'll post some pics once it's painted/mounted. bellypans are a little harder to find. i have not seen a used one on e-bay. Duc Perf has them but of course they are expensive.
cool bike.

Are you also using the Buell dual headlights? Regarding the tank, that makes sense since its a 97 with fuel injection, so maybe the tank is newer. The tank also has dents from the triple clamps but I hear that's common on Monsters.

sticking with the stock headlight for now. the dents are either from someone raising the tank with the bars turned or not having the steering stops set correctly. i've come close to doing the 1st. for the 2nd turn the bars slowly from full lock left to full lock right. adjust the stops so the bars come close but don't contact the tank. this will help with low speed parking lot manuvers like doing a u-turn into the gas pumps.

I need to go look around but I had trouble finding the stops. I have a feeling the someone took them off.
Is that your Monster in the the aviator, that is one cool monster? Post a pic if you can. Thats a cool exhaust. Is it dual or single.

that's a corbin seat you've got there but for my sell that thang on ebay and pick up a stock seat-- i had a corbin shortly but found the stock one to actually be more comforable for spirited riding. it sits you up a little higher and more forward for a better balance. but i'm pretty tall so that corbin was wrong all over for me....

do look nice though, don't they.

the exhaust is a full 50mm 2 into 1 Sil-Motor with a Termi can. i did a little tweaking on it and made the rear bracket myself. it tucks in real tight and sounds great.
you can use any bolt and nut combo that fit into the steering stop bosses. i went to a local hardware store and bought 2 cool black allen heads and bolts to replace the stockers when i lost one. just watch the length of the bolts. make sure you can turn the bars full lock each way and nothing binds like a clutch line or throttle cable.
here is a pic of the Hotrod M944. i love this bike.

WOw, your bike looks is nice! That has to be the coolest Momster out there.
Thnx for the tip on the stops and seat. I am also tall so maybe a stock seat will work better for me.

give the corbin a chance. monarc is the 1st guy i've heard that liked the stock seat over the corbin. i hated the stocker. it sloped into the tank and under hard braking in bumps you'd end up with your nuts crushed on the tank. it was bad.
