Default pc location/relocation

thought I checked pretty thoroughly all possible searches. Hope someone/anyone can assist. I just experienced one of many brain farts! Had a shop Install a pcIII on my Foggy. It was mounted on top of the battery 3 mos ago. Came back from vaca and tried firing up bike. No spark. All electrical working fine. Noticed on PC that lights weren't on at all, so I took the liberty to disconnect and check plugs. Found the plugs fouled up. I swaped out plugs ($27.00 each! ) Bike fired right up. My ques is anyone have any problems w/their pc location on the Monster? I noticed on the foam padding under the tank that there is some indentation from the LED lights of the pc. Not sure if the location of pc is what fried it or if it's just a bad one. Any advide would be great! Thanks

ps. What do you guys think the shops extent of responsibility is? They offered to replace PC, but would not pay the $145.00 charge I paid to tow it in (I don't own a truck)

Talk to Tom (Infoage). He mounted a PCIII next to his small battery. You can buy different plugs for alot cheaper. Contact Chris K at California Cycleworks.

I'm installing a PCIII soon will know soon.

i have mine (PCIII) stuck to the top of my battery also with no problems.

as for fouled plugs i just clean them with a wire brush and some contact or brake cleaner then reinstall them.

I have both of my PC's mounted under my seat. They fit fine if you have removed you oil tank. I have a small oil breather that I bought at the auto store for $5 insted of the big tank under the seat.

Just saw this thread. Already answered the PCIII question for Rafik, but if anyone's interested, here's some pics of my installation, along with a review of the Yuasa YTZ-7S:

S4/S4R sparkplugs:

Oil tank:

Removing the oil tank is considered a bad idea by every guru that's commented on it (hp loss, oil on rear tire concerns), but many people do it anyway. I put larger fittings on my stock tank, cored my OEM breather, and used one of the Ford check-valves mentioned in this thread. Unfortunately, the links to the comments by the gurus are dead, but I think I still have Jon Nichols' email about this subject, if anyone wants to read it.
