So when laying a negative mold - the first pieces of the fabric will be what is showing.....Right?

I would think that would would be harder to achieve the finish you would like as you wouldn't be able to see the actual outside layer that will be visible. I'm going to have to give this a try sometime - maybe I'll make a set of dishes out of carbon fiber for when my family comes to visit

huh, that is a cool idea! Never thought of that. When I make my breather box, I'm probably just going to do a two piece deal. Then join the two pieces with more CF and resin. Or atleast that is how my brother-in-law told me he made the fuselage for a project in his aero. enginneering class in college. Did you put any thing in the middle of the box. Don't the ducati ones have some type of netting to catch the oil and the box has a downward slant back to the engine so caught oil can go back to where it came?

strati - bike is moving along nicely and this looking great! What else do you have to do besides assembly when all the parts make it back to you?

jager, When I made mine I slqanted everything so the oil could run bqack into the engine. I also put a piece of fine stainless screen about 1/3 of the way up in the box to act as an oil seperator. I made a 1' ID breather that fit into the engine without a reed valve, 1" hose, used the stock breather with valve in the box's exit with a small K&N filter. It works fine, very little oil residue under the tail with about 5K miles on it. 12.3/1 compression , 907cc's
