So i found a pretty cool kit made by the guys at ducshop, and i'm contimplating purchasing one for my SC. It essentially eliminates the airbox, and replaces it with 2 K&N cone filters mounted to some custom machined velocity stacks. They sent me a dyno printout from a HYM, and it was a pretty impressive gain (something like 6hp and 2ft.lb tq) I was wondering if anyone had tried this yet, and what results they have acheived. Anyone able to post pics up? I was toying with the idea of just getting filters (not using a velocity stack....) I know the air flow would not be as smooth, but more air would be available for the motor....Any imput is appreciated. thanks
Someone on Ducati.ms did one I think. I'd stick with the DucShop kit. It's affordable, and most bikes are very picky about the velocity stack being properly sized.

"Exercise restraint and discipline, only responding to posts from legit customers and those with constructive positive intent, you will find that the handgrenades explode harmlessly. You have many satisfied customers who are happy to have the parts you've made. My suggestion to you is keep making good parts, keep getting more customers, take care of them and let them speak for you."
i was just offering a neat option for you to sell in addition to your billet ones, don't get huffy I don't see you selling carbon ones and i assumed it was because you don't have them but i certainly can buy yours, copy them in billet and carbon and sell them for half of what you selling yours for
i was offering help and you obviously got issues with that for some odd reason

Back to the subject of the original post, TPO makes a kit for the DS1000 motors. If I had to bet, they made the one you saw. It replaces the airbox with custom air horns and K&N filters. They make two versions: Beast and Beast R. The Beast is better suited for street, gaining more power across the range. The Beast R has much bigger diameter air horns and larger K&N filters. They say it sacrifices a little on the bottom in favor of the top-end, and as such they recommend it for track use.
Additionally, a member of Ducati.ms, Wasp1000 (Greg), has developed a complete kit replacing the airbox with new air horns, K&N filters, and mounts for the breathers and coils. This was just announced today, and looks pretty cool. Greg has also made some neat tail light replacements and top-mount steering damper kits, and his work has been well-received by just about everyone who has tried it. You may want to check his stuff out as well.
Good luck!

I did: AU$1,190 = US$1056. Considering what some folks spend on exhaust, and taking into account the R&D Greg (Wasp1000) did, it's not an unreasonable price.
So there seem to be three options: DucShop (very good rep), WaspWorks (again, very good rep), and TPU (ditto). What you have to decide is whether you want to engage in the tuning issues, and getting the PCIII set up properly (DucShop or TPU, both priced about the same), or pay a good bit more for more parts and a more bolt it on and forget it convenience with the WaspWorks kit.
The good news is they are all good companies to work with.
