Default Oil coolers

Riding home last week my oil cooler fell off! That's right, fell off! The system connecting the cooler to the front cylinder is not a great design. The bolt does not go right through both washers to squeeze the rubber mount as you might expect; rather, from the outside one bolt connects the oil cooler to the rubber grommet. The grommet is glued to a flat "washer" which doubles as a bolt into the cylinder mount. The rubber on both sides simply came apart from the "washer".

10K miles on mine. If you have a sportsclassic, keep an eye on these. Not a major issue, but I don't like having to park the bike for 2 or 3 weeks waiting for the parts (about $7 each side)

Had the same thing happen to me after I installed a larger oil cooler. I just drilled a hole through the rubber part and used longer bolts.

Default parts

Great idea. I first posted this in December. 2 months later and I still am waiting for these parts. Is it just my dealer, or is it DNA or Italy that is so disorganized that a part that fits in a padded envelope takes more than 2 months to obtain?
