So I'm driving down 3 lane city road today and a car waiting to join from a side street decides to turn onto the road in front of me even though he can see me coming. i honk and he just keeps creeping foward. i keep honking and getting closer and closer, he just keeps creeping more and more into the lane i'm coming down. finally i have to slow all the way to about 10 miles an hour i'm still honking and he's looking right at me and SMILES and just creeps right in front of me forcing me into the lane beside me (which up until seconds ago was occupied by another car) I pull up beside him and kick his drivers door hard. He stops smiling slams on the brakes and pulls over. In my rear view mirror I can see him checking the door. God I hope I kicked it hard enough to dent it. Never saw him again. I don't think I'm cool for doing this, but I certainly don't regret it.
Don't ever try that in Texas ..... you will end up with a dislocated hip (majority of vehicles seem to be monster-trucks, so you need to be able to kick really high) and if you do succeed, your chances of getting shot are really high.
Your action was indeed not cool, but then, who started the "not cool"? Still no justification, though. But ..... I can relate ..... I have often come close to similar responses .......

Believe me, there have been plenty of times when I thought about doing something like that. But you're playing with fire when it comes to pissing off a car driver. Especially after that incident here in Tucson last month, in which a crazy asshole in a minivan ran down and killed a biker because the rider had yelled at him earlier, ironically about his aggressive driving.
I hear a lot of bravado on these message boards, where people brag about knocking off peoples' mirrors, or throwing ball bearings at their windshields, etc.
Even though some of these car drivers probably deserved it, you're creating a very volatile situation, and when a car and a bike come together, we all know who generally wins.
I'm glad you got away with it this time, but please, next time just try to get away from the idiot in question and just mark it down as another lesson learned. There are too many complete fools out there driving cars, and you can't avoid all of 'em...
yeah, i know. i think the fact he thought it was funny that he was cutting me off is what made me do it. and i did have to brake pretty hard to avoid him.
off topic, but i never realized how many drivers are on their cell phones while driving. i find myself looking at drivers a lot more than i used to, seeing if they see me, and they're all on cell phones. it's scary.

it's not worth putting yourself in the kind of situation that an irate cager can put you in ... think about the difference in mass between a cage and a bike, and factor in the mindless attitude of an irate cager. really not worth it.
better to believe in karma ... that pr!ck will get their payback soon enough ... like an 18 wheeler running them over, or getting the sh!t kicked out of them by their overbearing wife ;-)
besides, idiots like that are only looking for the rise they can get out of you ... best to just ride on by and not even acknowledge their stupidity.
I got my bike license not that long ago and one thing the instructors kept going on about was internalising everything that happens out there.
The point was no matter what happens it is YOUR fault, as you put yourself in that position.
They were not trying to be smart @rses, but to get us to change our attitude and make us really consider the fact that we alone decided to ride motorcycles and thus we alone are completely responsible for staying alive, nobody else is going to look out for us, etc.
Thus while I fully understand your frustration (and yes I have once given a car the fingers ... but never since then) YOU should have moved yourself out of that situation instead of expecting the d!ckhead cage driver to look out for you.
Now if everybody internalised the issues that occur while driving we ALL would be much better riders and drivers and this guy would NOT have pulled out in front of you ... instead we all like to blame the other person, cause it is easier, but wrong.
Best
Pete

Grumpy Kiwi.
Why fly when ya can make a lot of noise
next time just follow him until you come to a stop sign or red light, get off the bike and go to his window and headbutt the fook out of him with your helmet on or just break his damn nose with our fist when he rolls the window down. if youve ever had a broken nose, you know that it bleed like crazy, your eyes will tear up and you cant see for shyt. or, you can take your helmet off and offer to kick his ass man to man in the middle of the street.
i made eye contact with a female on a side street, and i thought for sure she would wait until i passed to enter my lane, but no, she waited until the LAST minute to pull out and i almost clipped her. i slammed on the brakes hoping she would pass me so i could follow here and cuss her out, but she turned on the next side street after i has already passed it so i lost her. if she was ugly i was planning on knocking her teeth out. clary

Well I definitely don't think it's MY fault that he cut me off and then smiled like a jerk, but I remember my instructors telling me about internalizing stuff and I agree. And I certainly agree that when cars and bikes fight cars always win.
Bottom line - I'm not going to kick any more cars.
