Default Termi slip ons - ceramic coating

Hello everybody!

My name is Hazem and a proud owner of a red sport 1000. Like most of you who purchased the Termi slip on's, likley had them installed at the dealer ship.

I was not happy with the the different contrast from the headers compared to the slip on's , so I made the bold move and had my entire system ceramic spray coated.

After removing the my system, I could not notice what CRAPPY worksmanship at Terimingoni. My welds were rough and uneven, and the flat black paint was easily scratched off. Some parts of the pipe were not even painted.

I have a few pics to prove my point. Anyway, If you do decide to do it, drilling out the rivets to take the bands off is not a big deal. Tape the end caps before spraying, rivet the bands back on. VOILA!! Pipes that should have come from factory.

P.S: Check my bike out! http://www.takumiproject.com/Sport_Classic/pics.htm

Hi Hazem,

Your red Sport looks great! I have a yellow one, and have been mulling over the exhaust color, I too have the Termi slip-ons. I have one of the band rivets located *between* the stacked pipes. No way to drill it out. For the life of me I can't figure out how Termi assembled this unit.

Anyway, your pics on the takumiproject.com site are before the ceramic coating? (The slip-ons and header are different color, and the Termi stickers are still on...). Can you post any pics after the ceramic coating?

Who did you use for the coating? I've been looking at Jet Hot, but haven't been able to discern how to dis-assemble the bands and remove the guts of the slip-ons yet.

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Bill

Interesting clutch cover on the Red Sport 1000. I might do a clutch cover like that on my Burnt Yellow Sport 1000 and then go with a silver pressure plate underneath.

This is interesing too.
