ohlins steering damper for mh900evoluzione ...
ciao all -
picked up my new ohlins damper from alex about half an hour ago ... installation went well.
removing the stock damper takes about 15 minutes, as getting an allen head wrench on the bolt that holds the stock mounting bracket and turning it takes FOREVER, as you can only get about 1/32 of a turn in before the wrench hits something!!!
forget reading the installation instructions ... i don't know what the engineers at ohlins were smoking when the wrote the instructions, but you cannot install it the way they advise, by pushing the knurled adjuster end into the mounting bracket first ... you need to slide the eye end in first, then it is a snug fit of the damper into the mounting bracket, but it fits with very tight precision. once all the bolts are snugged down, it fits great.
just moving the bars back and forth with the bike on its stand, the ohlins damper feels much smoother than the stock damper, and i had it adjusted to 9 clicks out from fully bottomed. the ride quality should be fantastic!!!
ciao and grazie mille alex, for putting the group purchase together.
