Default Cleaning up the Rear End

Hi, this is my first thread on Speedzilla.

I just bought a new Sport 1000 and I'm looking to clean up the rear end licence plate/turn signal/brake light area.

Here's MY BIKE at the moment.

Is anyone starting to make anything yet? AMS? Anyone?

Here's a pic from another thread and obviously it's track-prepped, but man, the cleaned-up rear end looks great.

Sorry, if this has been asked before I'm new, still learning how everything works on here.

Looks like this is a great community by the way.

Someone else posted this on another board, looks pretty nice! Not sure about the finish, but everything else looks great and I'm sure it could be painted.

Seems like a simple plate relocator, but any idea if relocating the taillight and signals are an issue?

Given all the trouble people are having problems hitting the rear plate on the wheel I was wondering what it might look like to simply cut off the long hangy part of the bike's fender, rather then move the lights under the seat. you wouldn't be affecting clearance at all and it cleans up the look nicely. i for one, think there's something nice about the line of the fender, and i think moving the lights under the seat makes the whol rear-end look a bit stubby.

I likes! I'm kinda with you on how moving the taillights under the seat make it look a bit stubby. I do think the stock position of the lights is a bit far out, so it'd be nice to be able to cleanup the plate and move the lights back just a few inches. Nice work tho!

Well it's just a photoshop for now. But I kind of like the look of it. You could easily light the rear plate by simple drilling/cuting a small hole underneath the rear brake light. Light from that light would shine down onto the plate. I don't know just a thought.

Ed at commonwealth ducati set up a sport with an led tail light that cleaned it up huge. You might give him a call for more info. I don't remember the specifics - just seeing it once at the shop. http://commoto.com/

Thought I already posted a reply here but guess not....

Checkout http://pakbikes.net/PS1000LE/TAILMODSV3.html

I am also working with a guy here in Salem Oregon to prototype a rear fender along the lines of the '74 750ss.... we are also going to mock up a complete seat/cowling piece with lights included. Not sure how far that will go.
