Talking 1000 Hp Mh

That caught your interest

I have been fiddling with my PC111 to get the bike running as good as I can prior to taking it to the big city for a dyno run in a coupla months.

I have left it as a zero map as the MH OEM map seems to be good so the basis of fueling it up is only for mixture correction.

I set the cyl trim to plus 5% for both cylinders and after a coupla road tests I established it was still not quite there, I set to and manually adjusted the fine tune scale a further two points up and now it runs as strong as an ox, no coughs or splutters.

Idling was way too rich at that and it sputtered on startup and felt gooey, both air bleeds were set at 1.75 turns from the base setting, again after resetting these both even at 4 turns out from the base the bike cracks into life with no throttle and idles beautifully.

So for the moment it is fueled up approx 5.2% from factory, this seems to work well with the pods and stacks and the full length balanced headers.

We will be taking it to a dyno and I will post the results once done, it would think there might another 2-3 HP from opening it up and fueling it correctly, time will tell.

The seat dyno says it has another 100 HP 8-D

G'day,

I have a friend who has just bought #1785 MHe, and has fitted the Staintune pipes, but not headers, and is looking at a power commander. I am going to be boosting a bit the compression, porting the heads and stooging around a bit with the injection, and would be interested in any info that you have found out that could help make this little puppy a real mover !!
I am going to do some suspension work too, as I think the forks and shock can be improved on, and there are a few detail touches that I will try to improve, but I really like this bike, it didn't do a lot for me when I saw them in the dealers or at shows, but in the flesh and on the road, it's a whole different kettle of kumara !!
Marc had a lot of popping and banging on over-run, but that was quickly solved by changing the shitty standard exhaust manifold gaskets for the composite 900ss ones, and sealing up the pipe junctions with HT silicone exhaust sealant.
Cheers,
Peter

Heya Le Kiwi

I have pods and stacks on mine with the PC111USB, full length header set and open mufflers, it has no engine work done at all and is all factory.

We dynoed mine at 77RWHP with the above so it is only 2 HP above the factory specs anyway.

Unless you throw a lot more party gear in there would not be big enough gains, with head work and higher compression etc you will get morre but it will be at the expense of the engine life etc.

G'day Andi,

I think the reliability will be OK, I have had really good results with the two valvers in the past, and think I can squeeze a bit more grunt out of this little puppy before it squeaks...!
I really like your exhaust, that is a lot of work !! These frigging 'ass'ymmetrical systems are great in theory, but then theoretically bumble bees can't fly....
Damned "designers" !!!

77 back wheel ponys is around 90 odd hp at the crank, which is OK for a 2 valver. What sort of top speed are you getting (assuming the cops don't still hide at the end of the long straights on the Otago plains with their radars...)
Err.. and assuming the dash stays together, I see it's the same as the new Bimota, eeerrg !!
Marc topped out at 240 km/hr yesterday on a long straight with std gearing, which strikes me as pretty good, but I don't know how precise these dashes are. I should have asked him to get flashed by a radar for confirmation....

Aahh, you lucky dog, easing into summer as we slide down into the icy grips of winter.....

220 is the highest it has been, I have a 14 tooth front sprocket which will account for going more than the 215 stated in the book but there was not much left at that.

Thanks for your props on the exhaust, there was a few hours in building it but it came up great and the bike sounds like a V2 not a V1.75 you get with the shorty rear header.

My bike is not very aerodynamic anymore, not sure if you have seen it since it was done, if not go here to see Malattia http://www.ducatimonster.org/feature...red-nov05.html

I will try her out for top speed now that everything is set up, I am running the SPA speedo now.

Summer is here so riding season it is, lookin forward to scrubbing off some rubber
