Default New for Old - Rebuilt '91 SS

Thought I'd share my 6 months of effort with you all. I like the new style and the old technology so the only way to go was to build it myself. Amazingly a fair amount of parts fit out-of-the-box.

Fantastic exhaust care of Mark at MHP.

How does the mirrors work out in the combination (Do you have good view angle etc.)?

Thats really cool man, good job on the build.

Does it run any hotter than normal with the sbk fairings?

Thanks guys.

The mirrors are great, I can actually see behind me. Their a bit tricky to fit as you have to put the fixing pins from the 748 mirrors inside the 1098 mounting pieces and then re-shape where they fit on the nose but well worth it.

The temp is OK with two oil rads but it has run fine with one. I don't feel any difference from the original fairings. During the 33 dgree days last week it was running between 90 and 100 degrees depending on traffic. On colder days it stays under 90.

The extra support from the frame on the outside of the swing arm pivot makes the whole thing as solid as a rock - but that was a lot of work.

Fantastic job.....

Did you have a vision / plan to build it this way or did it evolve from the parts you had?

Also, which swingarm is that please, I thought it was a mechamex or however its spelt but I'm not sure.

It is really looking fantastic, after mod your bike is become too attractive, i like exhaust pipe very much, i think it gives a good sound, and the mirror look totally different, it will match with your bike, i like it very much, thanks for sharing.
