Default Lunchtime Ride Vid to Echo Lake, Colorado

Just to have a different kind of topic, in case an interest, had some minutes to fill and complete a tape. Rode to Echo Lake and just a little bit of everything experienced...

The driveway, local roads, highways, small towns, cruisers, a near miss, scenery, arrival. The typical ride. Six minutes.

The Duc to 10,600ft. - Vid

Nice work. It reminded of this past July when I was in Colorado. Makes me want to go back.

Yes, thanks. Something different and still, part of the common Duc experience.

Ever go up and down horsepower hill to deckers? A group of us were around there on sunday and what a great time. I would like to see what a bike camera video would look like on that road. big long sweepers @ 100mph, always makes for a great time! Great video, but it looks like someone hit the snooze button a few times, telling by all the traffic.

Oh yes. It is about 30 minutes away. Have many vids of the road. While the washout between Deckers and West Creek is unfortunate, it has lessened traffic considerably south of Buffalo Creek.

Default Great vid

SFARSON,

Thanks for the video. That was great and I went out for a ride after viewing it.

I try to ride all the winding roads I can find, but for scenary here in my part of Texas all I get is scrub and armadillos tits-up.

I need to move. Thanks again!

Nice mello ride, nice background music. Kind of tough keeping your bike clean from the looks on where you live.

Well, it is especially challenging living here since I'm on the anal side of the spectrum when it comes to a clean thing from Bologna!

Not to rub it in , but I ride year round at 8800ft here in the Rockies. Today temps were in the 60's (Ideal) and went on a 120 mile lunchtime/pre-Thanksgiving ride. Yeah, snow will come... had a storm two weeks ago, but it melted in two days and it has been sunny and dry since.

I keep saying I am going to go out there, but never have.

Where's Echo Lake in relation to Mt. Evans? I've ridden to the top of that a few times on my bicycle. Love to come back down and do it on my Ducati.

Absolutely. Have a recording of most tasteful roads here. Sometimes I think about writing a book.

hawc... Take a look at the map below and you'll see. Very close. If you've ridden to the top, then you were on the road (103) of this recording.

BTW, here's a better video of the ride to Echo Lake, done <ahem> on a nice Munich thing .

Wow, I guess that's why your movie actually gave me goosebumps. It took me back to when I was 16 years old and did that ride. I think we started our ride up Mount Evans from Echo Lake. I think there was a souvenir shop there. A lot of people start from Idaho Springs, but we started from Echo Lake I believe.

Colorado is just so damn beautiful. I love being in the Mountains, they make you feel so small. I rember we did a ride through Vail Pass too that was increadible.

It's funny, everyone talks about Pikes Peak, but nobody talks about Mount Evans.

Now with the salt eh?
It must be nice to live in such an isolated area, yet close to everything thats nice.
