Default Presenting my latest trackday video...

Had a great time at Thunderhill in northern California a couple of weeks ago, chasing Mark Buckelew around on my 749S. It was my first time on the track (my new favorite), and my first chance to play with my new Christmas toy - a motorcycle camera mount made by Twenty20. Here's a link to a little video I produced from the footage. It was fun to make and I hope you like it! http://home.rmci.net/bkw/image...5.mpg (right-click and save for best results)

Very nicely done BMWhip. What program did you use to put that together? Also, do you have any cinematographic training?

That was excellent.

Thanks Arty. I used Pinnacle Studio 9 as the software to put it together, and no, I didn't have any special training. Last winter I started putting together some footage of old VHS home movies of the kids in digital format to preserve them better, and with practice it just sort of grew from there. I also have been inspired by other motorcycling videos I've seen on the web, and a desire to share my experience with my non-riding friends and family.

For Christmas my wife got me one of these:
http://www.twenty20camera.com/...cb7d2

I connect it to my Sony DCR-PC9 digital video camera that I carry in a mini tankbag made by Givi. It looks like this: http://store.yahoo.com/motostrano/git4matapo.html

On my previous bike I used a mount made by http://www.sportbikecam.com/, that you simply mounted your video camera to. It worked great and gave better picture quality, but didn't have the ablility to give me multiple angles like the new setup does.

Awesome stuff. Isn't the music some older Satriani (early 90s I think)?

Very nicely done.

NICE! I was looking at the leather thinking.. "Hey, that's Buckelew on a Gixxer!!".. then i read your post.

Great editing and camera angles.. especially the throttle cam.

Good ear on the Satriani - yes, that's "Flying in a Blue Dream" (1989).

Awesome! Love the camera angles where you can't see the bike. Get that kinda vertigo feeling going over the humps

Great and creative video...nice transitions, unique camera angles, and a nice flow and pace. I don't know how to do all that stuff, but that vid just "felt" really good; you obviously have a good intuitive editing sense.

And that old Satch reminded me so much of all the great guitar heros of the late 80s and early 90s; Jake E Lee, Randy Rhoads, Alex Skolnick (Testament), Eric Johnson, Gary Moore, and of course, Steve Vai...

Reminded me of seeing Vai in concert at Hammerjacks in Baltimore back in the day...a few beers, a few lines (remember, this was back in the day!) and I was moved to tears watching him play "For the Love of God".

That video somehow mixed those memories with the visceral pleasures of riding a motorcycle. I showed it to my wife, and she "got" it...I think you achieved your goal of being able to share the experience. Well done.

Thanks, DB - glad you enjoyed it! Screaming motorcycles and screaming guitars - two of my favorite things!
