Default Ducati Chain Guard.

Could anyone please tell me if fhey have the same problem with their 749 Ducati 2004 model. Because my chain guard is so short, oil is splashing up on my exhaust pipe and leaving a bad stain. I feel this is a poor design by Ducati. The only way I can fix this problem is to buy a $400 extended guard & hugger. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/ID:\Kells\Ducati 749.173.JPG

I tried to include a pic but it didnt show up ?

my pic is in this link http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/239555/

I thank you for your comment .Maybe Australia is a hotter place and the chain runs hotter so more oil sprays out?
There has got to be an answer. Kell

I have a QB cabron hugger which seems to keep a lot of crap at bay. However some chain lube does spray up. I tend to use putoline spray grease which reduces "fling".

Couple of tips
1) only lube the chain immediately after a ride- this is when chain is hot and the grease sticks better
2) use a product such as wd40 immediately after lubing to remove any excess.

The bike is then ready for your next ride!
