Deal's Gap trip photos (US129 - Tail of the Dragon)

Laurie and I took a nice trip to the smokey mountains this weekend.

We "slayed" the dragon, tho we did it in a car, so I am not sure if it qualifies. We toured all around Cherokee indian reservation. We did both Tennesse and North Carolina side of the great smokey mountains.

Did you ride the Cherohala Skyway? That is by far my favorite road up there.

Nah, did not get to do that one this trip.

I'll do it next time I am in the area for sure.

Apparently i was there during a rather busy weekend.

5 crashes on Friday, 1 on Saturday. Out of 6 crashes, 4 riders were airlifted to the hospital in TN.

One of the bikes exploded and the aluminum frame melted and ran down the road in a lil strems of liquid metal, there are even pics of that here:

Man, I'm glad I rode it on a fantastic Wed morn last year! Sounds like it's gonna be a crazy year and prolly get nothin but crazier not to mention more law enforcement. MH
