in one pic you make the 999 look like a pocket bike.

I'm 6' 150lbs. Isn't it strange how small the bike looks?

That was my 2002 998R, I raced it in 2002, rode it during track days 2003 and sold it at the end of 2003. When I pulled these pics up I kinda shed a tear.

i know i won't be the first one to ask you this, but how does the 998R compare to the 999 you are using now? what are the main differences as a track bike?

They are not that much different, the biggest points are:

You sit IN the 999 and ON the 998

It's cheaper to get the real racebike geometry out of the 999 because you don't need to buy a mag swingarm.

Thats about it.

Here's a couple taken during a 110 degree trackday at Firebird's West track.
Needless to say I was impressed with 944's air-cooled motor in the heat!

I figured it would be better to wave at the camera man than to pull a "Foggy" and flip him the bird!

I have never seen myself on video. I would like to see what it looks like from the side of the track.......slow I'm sure.

I don't mind the MV's at all. There kinda like Ducati's step brother. Not exactly family, but allowed to eat at the big table

And for Cara........................................
