Cali has its upside and its downsides. But living in Michigan isn't a fairytale either.

Ben...

yes I love my 998 and its truly a dream to ride.....

The motor was built and blue printed by the sideways, dis member, a couple of posts above, Matt Carr from Ducati Indianapolis. I can't say enough about his work and the HP #'s are proof.

Motor:
Pistal High Comp Pistons
Ported and milled heads
Hand shaped combustion chambers
Cams Degreed at 112/111
All internal motor gears machined
Lightweight cam rollers
2.5lb flywheel
Akrapovic full system 55-60 mm
Set up and dyno'd by Matt on a brutal day that was pissing rain at 147rwhp w/ 81 ft-lbs of torque
He believes we could get more out of her on a better day but that is plenty for me....

The bike has never let me down and currently sits in my living room for the winter.

Nothing other than ohlins superbike internal and ohlins rear shock re-build by Matt Carr. I am running 16.5's on that bike which really suits the old bikes well....

I have another 998 partly assembled on the bench. Matt has the motor again ...so far Corse swingarm with 27mm offset triples and ohlins upfront w/100 mm radial brakes.....but its still another year away as things are thin up here...

Very nice!

Make sure you keep us updated on your project. I hear the 16.5s don't make such a big difference to contemporary 17". Your findings?

Hey Craig, thanks for the props. Your bike is probably one of my favorite bikes I have ever worked on and you have done quite alot of the work yourself as well. I can't wait to get started on that 999R engine that Art did a stellar job of crating up. I think I'll call you tomorrow.

It first looked like you´d lose the front and lowside

But then, hey, it´s a Dunlop front tyre!

Cool pix. What are the bike´s specs?
