Well shit, what a great bike, the riding position was very relaxing and bought the kid out of me pretty quickly.
Took a while to get used to it, at least 3-4 metres I would say, first gear ... wheelie ....... then up into second gear and keep her going, very nicely balanced.
Interesting that the fuel tank molds all the way from the filler right back under to the back of the seat, the poxy battery holder is a piece of foam and taht is all that stops the battery from tipping, Ducati need shooting to think that is all it needs, engineering dept needs a kick in the head for shite like that
Rear wheel guard up underneath the seat is non existant and the rear wheel fires all sorts of crap straight into the electric region, not smart.
Rest of the bike is cool, suspension was great even though it is the base model, mirrors are a pretty weak addon IMO, bark busters would not take any amount of a hit being plastic so to drop one will cost you a bark buster and most probaby an indicator.
The wheelbase is 25 mm longer than the MH900e, the swingarm is 25 mm longer and this is where all the length difference is, could still do a steering damper as well.
1100 2 valve is very smooth, peaks/redline 8750 so quite low but it does do eveything from the bottom and very smooth with it, by all accounts the mapping seems Ok but I am a little unsure about the exhaust valve and O2 senser as these have caused some greif.
Seat is comfy and makes you sit right up on the tank, great in the twisties, front anchors are well cool, dash is a little hard to read at certain light but has everything you want.
No hugger is another Ducati needs shooting thing, rear wheel fires rocks and dead children straight into and onto the spring and ball joints - good going Ducati
I general they are a cool bike and yeap the seating height is the lowest out of the KTM90sm and the BMW HP2 so it suits me.
I would own one but a hugger and rear undertray would be the first things to do, pipes would be very very easy to do so that wouldn't be far off the top of the list as well.
