That's what I was thinking. Someone transfer funds to my bank account already. Let's do this.

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."
By the way, since you stole my quote, do you have any idea who said it?

The value range for 998Rs is $18K-$22K now, which is off about $2K from 18+ months ago. A near-perfect low-mile STREET-REGISTERED US-model is a blue-chip bike. $22K is a legitimate top-market price for a top-market bike so the $24K isn't ridiculous.
With only 50 US versions originally brought in, and a single-digit number of EU versions in this country; they aren't exactly Wal-Mart inventory. This was the lowest quantity US Ducati SP/R model!
^^^^ Ha. Blake I have to say you do know your sh*t Sir. I know you have enough rare bikes in your personal inventory to warrant a valid opinion unlike some of the clowns commenting on my thread.
And Rocky if you look WAAAAAY back in the Ducati.ms forums you'll see that way back before I got banned for kicking the sh*t out of Tye and his girlfriend Chuckracer I had the same quote on my signature before you did. Besides don't forget that it's Theodore Roosevelt's quote.... not yours. Get off my thread you crazy old man.

Other than the SPA (of which 11-24 were re-exported to the UK), the 998R is the sh**!
The 888SPS was never imported into the states, 101 were made for the world not the US. (Sources: Standard Catalog of Ducati, Ducati Buyer's Guide)
The quantities for the '93 888SPO and '94 888 LTD are correct for the US market but these were not really true Sport Production bikes as these featured the same 888cc engine as the standard 888 used for the rest of the world. Probably because of difficulty passing EPA standards of the time with the hot-rod 888cc engine (see next paragraph).
One bike left off the list was the '91 851 SP3. IIRC there were 20 of these imported that year, but that number may be off. At the time what my dealer told me. They were also not technically street-legal, although I'm sure most had a license plate at some point (Source: Motorcyclist MOTY, 1991)
Early in this thread my valuation of the 998R was $19k-$21.5k so we seem to agree on the range.
Well said, and thanx for the further clarification. I was recently informed by a credible Ducati source that there were a few 888SP4s brought in as US models. I haven't been able to confirm that, though. Any info there?

Take one of the offers you got over $20K if you want it gone. You paid $15K for it and made money off of the spares. A profit of +/-$7K in this economy is doing really good........
Well considering I ride the bike occasionally and I am not in a big hurry to sell it I wouldn't let it go for less than my asking price. I appreciate the advice.

RockyMT you need to use Google. 1st the quote, yes it is Roosevelt's and 2nd you did misspell with the extra e. took all of 20 seconds to figure this out.
And once again if you are not going to offer him what he wants for his bike then keep your comments to your self unless somehow they may help someone who is actually interested in it. Somehow i doubt that all you naysayers could even come up with the deposit for this bike, let alone cut a check for it so shut your pie holes already!!
Hey hailwood, how 'bout you STFU? (or are you his bodyguard?)

RockyMT how old are you 3 or 4 because I have a 4yr old and you seem to act like you are younger than her.
Why dont you STFU and go back to what ever unimportant thing you do that no one cares about. Because like everyone else in your life, no one here cares either.
Better yet why dont you......oh never mind this is clearly a waste of time because you might not be able to read, but you probably live at home so why dont you have your mom read this to you.
Excuse me "hailwood" (do you have his poster over your bunk bed sally?) seems like it's time you changed yer manpon, I have no clue how you decided to interject yerself into this, but once again how 'bout ya STFU? I think there's a special on faux carbon fiber Ducati key fobs on E-Bay, you should check 'em out, really gets the baristas moist at *bucks when you drop 'em on the counter whilst ordering yer non-fat, soy maccio-latte and scone.....
Hugs 'n kisses,
