I have refused several offers above $20K. I am only talking to people who are interested in paying the $24K I have offered the bike at. I am in the middle of a huge dilemma right now. I am back and forth on whether or not to part with the bike. I'm pretty much feeling out the market. I suffered from a little remorse after selling my other 998R a few years ago. I have a lead on a super rare race bike that I am considering buying too so we shall see...

I'm not looking to spark off a separate debate but that is one very bold statement considering more than one 998R were used during the 2003 British Superbike season as spare bikes to be used when their RS/Factory counterparts were out of service.
No disrespect to you or your bike but I'm pretty sure the BSB teams and mechanics back then knew how to set up a pretty trick 998R

All I'm saying is that the particular combination of parts on my 998R is unique. I'm sure there are parts on my bike that no self-respecting pro or semi pro team would want on theirs. And some probably would not be allowed on their bikes due to rule restrictions. Several parts on my bike aren't even made anymore. Try as I might, I can't seem to find the part of my prior post that intimates that my bike is "better" than any one else's, or that it is set up better, etc. It is simply just the way that I want it, for me.

^^^ Have you saved up enough for a deposit yet?? Until you can come to the table with some money.......Stay off my thread old man!!

It's just a feeler. I just ordered NCR Ti rearsets for the bike. I'm not really hard up to get rid of it.
If I still have the bike by the time I put the BSTs and Monoblocs on it I'll probably just keep it and start dumping money into.

I highly suggest with a bike such as your 998r that you keep it completely stock. If you do monoblocks and carbon wheels it will most likely not be an improvement for your resale. A collector of said bike will want it the same from the factory.
I agree with you. Thanks for the advice. Anything I am doing to the bike can be taken off and will not compromise the integrity of the bike. I am keeping all of the stock factory equipment. I talked to a guy today about getting a Corse carbon nose, snorkels and airbox for the bike. If I keep it I will probably swap the brakes and wheels. We shall see.

Ha. Yes indeed. Most of the guys who posted negative comments on this thread and offered me $15K for the bike don't even have $15K to pay for the bike. A lot of hot air out there.

dont sell it, you will regret it. I sold mine 3 yrs ago with 1000km and regret it. I never rode it, the previous owner had a dealer break it in according to the manual and then it was never ridden again until i sold it to a guy in Louisiana.
Then why not buy a poster and hang it in the garage, you can still drop yer Ducati key fob on the Starbucks counter like a "biker"
Semper Fi!

Fookin' tragic, havin' a bike thats just to look at.........
