Hey, I knew it wasn't personal I was just having a little fun on behalf of my sister. No offense taken, it is all good.

^^^^ As of now it is still in my dining room. I rode it on Sunday so of course I am having second thoughts on selling it. I have been in touch with a few people about it but until I have cash in hand I never consider a deal done. I will update the thread if anything changes. Thanks guys.

looks like a nice mint 998R for sale, but too pricey. Why does that non Ducati owner, non Ducati rider RockyMt, even post on here? Most likely he can't afford your bike. Should stick to the Honda section.

Ha. Yes indeed. Most of the guys who posted negative comments on this thread and offered me $15K for the bike don't even have $15K to pay for the bike. A lot of hot air out there.

YEAH! THAT's it bitch, typical poseur response, he's jealous, 'cuz he can't AFFORD the prestige of owning a finely crafted piece of mechanical art......blah, blah, blah. Son, my wife's a published artist, I have to endure the exact same bullshit on a daily basis at showings, pompus, egotistical turds, who think that dropping a Ferrari (or whatever) key fob on the desk means anything more than you overpaid for your ride (and for yer old ladys tits, which by the way everyone is laughing about behind yer back) You'd be amazed how many potential owners are actually put off from buying a Duc because of limp dicks like yourself. Anyway, I'll crawl back to my cave now, if yer ever up in the Bay Area, look me up, maybe you could give me a riding lesson.......if you bring a note from mommy. I'll see if I can cobble some piece of "Jap crap" together to ride.
Semper Fi!

IMHO, you would be extremely lucky to find a stock 998R in excellent condition for that amount of money, unless the seller is desperate for cash.
There may come a day, when I can't ride my 998R properly anymore, where I might consider selling it. I hope that day is in the very distant future. My particular 998R has had just about everything changed on it, and there is probably not another one like it on the planet. I realize that the bike is over-capitalized, but that was my choice and I have never regretted any of the modifications that I have made to it. They have all been done to increase Zing, not Bling.
This thread appears to have polarized quite a bit of folks on Speedzilla. Bottom line...the seller can ask whatever he wants, and if a buyer sees the value, then a deal may be struck. If not, it is all conjecture on our part.

Ha! You should definitely buy EVERY 998R for sale at that price. BTW...how many 998Rs have you seen for sell in the last 5 years? The bike will sell for my asking price IF I decide I really want to let go of it. The market on the 998R is completely different than the market on almost every other Ducati. Legitimate buyers are aware of this. I have spoken with three TRULY legitimate buyers and they ALL agree that most of the guys who have responded to my thread are clowns and that my asking price is fair enough. I just need to decide if I am going to let the bike go. I will update the thread if I decide to let the bike go.

Hey, you know what "they" say.....If you have to ask how much he turned down, you can't afford to ask about asking..........
