'93 888 SPO w/13888 miles, in Excellent mechanical condition. The body work has some chips and scratches (the original owner had a tipover). Still looks fantastic for a 12 yr old bike. I am the second owner, I have the complete documented service history and receipts (including original purchase agreement of the first owner). I just bought it in Dec '04,GREAT BIKE (wanted one since '93), however, I have my eye on a 998R.
Bike Includes;
FBF Slip on Exhaust system with Stage 1 Chip. (Sounds Awesome!!!!), DP rearset. I also, have the Original Rearset and exhaust including the Chip.
New;
RK 520 Chain, 14T front/41T Rear Sprocket, Battery, Solenoid, Clutch, Front and Rear Dunlop SportMax (less than 120 miles), K&N Air Filter, Tank Clip, and Clutch (basket and plates).

It's awfully tempting. I've been wanting to find an 888 to fill in my collection for quite some time, though admittedly I have my heart set on finding an SP5 one of these days (if I can afford it).

Guys, I know Emang personally and believe me when I say this bike was maintained with a vigor bordering on obsessive compulsive. It is in amazing condition mechanically and cosmetically.
When I rode it, I was surprised how amazing taught and well sorted a bike of this age felt. I've ridden brand new bikes that don't come close to being this smooth or refined. As a matter of fact, when I got home it made my 01 RC feel kinda cheap.
If I had the funds to spare I'd be all over this. Whoever the 3rd owner is, cheers. You're going to have something very special between your thighs.
I paid just $10K for my '88 Tri-Colore Kit 851, and supposedly there are only 5-7 of them in the U.S.
I don't know about those numbers. I'm pretty sure there were at least 25 of them (Kit bikes), because of homologation rules. I would have to think most of them are still here and intact...

By using the word homoligation, which is primarily used in racing circles, they were never homoligated for racing in the USA, but I believe they were in Europe and why 207 were made. The majic number is 200 for racing purposes.
Most definitely not EPA approved for importation purposes. 25 years old waves that issue.
My point is that all of the early desmoquatros are rare, underapreciated, undervalued bargins.
I'm pretty certain there was at least one team operating an 851 in Superbike in '88 (or maybe '89) in the AMA. I don't know if the "Kit" was officially homologated for the U.S., but if they were racing one, I would think it had to be, right?
The bike came with Michelin racing slicks mounted on magnesium wheels, no mirrors or turn signals, no speedometer, and open megaphone pipes. Obviously not road legal here, but they were available right from your dealership...

Jessica's Aunt Ruth, who died quite some time ago, apparently left her a little bit of money, which was sent to her just this weekend. The first thing she said to me was, "If you want that SP0, go get it!"

AMS here in Dallas has one on display and it has slicks , i thought it was kinda strange when i first saw it a few years ago to be this way because it has lights and everything. Not sure if it bellongs to Jeff Nash or if it's a customers bike.

In a heartbeat. I am currently undergoing a rebuild and resto job on a 93 SPO so I at least am getting to touch and fondle one.
My wife indulges alot on my M/C related fantasies as well, so I know where you are coming from
