Or you could spend $18G on a bike and $28G on a jet ski and have two seperate motos that do their respective sport extremely well.

Years ago when I was still roadracing (late ninties), I was at a national getting tires mounted. It was about 45 minutes to grid and threatening rain and I had to decide on rains or slicks (I didn't have multiple wheels).
Right then John Ulrich walked up to talk with Jim Allen and I asked him what he thought of my choices. I was considering intermediates and John said, "Well, rains work great in the rain, slicks work great in the dry and intermediates don't really work anywhere..."

That's what this reminds me of.
