We tried a politcal area during the elections, no good came from that.

Since I don't have the time to babysit, I'm going to say....ummm.....no.

I didn't think you were being sarcastic, but if you recall what a mess the polical forum became, you'll understand why I don't want to go down that road again.

People say..."If you want to keep your freinds you don't talk about Politics or Religion"

I have to agree with Dave

Then could we add a rule about not posting them in the lounge then? Kinda gets pathetic seeing all the political ramblings now going on there. Cant walk in there without stepping on a political post.

The other option you have is blocking posts from certain people. If there is someone who always seems to be instigating or stirring the pot, you can go to the User CP (top left on the header bar menu), and use the "buddy/ignore lists" option to filter. It will show you where they have posted, but not the post its self. The only way I think it would be better is if it filtered out threads the blocked person started, but that's easy enough to see and avoid.

It's easy enough to just not click on a political thread if it's not your cup of tea. I know I stay clear of a lot of threads I'm just not interested in.

If someone continually derails other discussions though then I could see it as a problem.
