Salvage title???? w/11 miles,,,,, What's the story? Do tell!!!!
I dont know the full story on it. From looking at the bike it looks like the milage is accurite and the damage is minimal. There is no rash on the bike. The upper is the only piece of bodywork with any damage.
I do know that I have the title in my hand with no liens on it.
-thanks Gabe
dont know what happen to the bike?? is it even your bike? or are you selling someone elses bike? 11 miles with a that type of title, and u dont know what happen to the bike sounds shady to me.
I own a repair shop and do a lot of insurance work and they just don't salvage bikes with 11 miles and only a small crack on the upper. It usually takes 60% of the value in damages to total a bike or a damaged frame.
FlipinR6, I did not own it when the damage occured. I do own it now, thanks for asking. It is very simple.....not shady.
CBR400, the bike was salvaged with this damage so I dont know what to tell you. I dont understand it either but here it is.

I got it from State Farm. I got this bike expecting it to have more damage. I cant justify turning it into a race bike.

Not trying to be a dick here, but this makes no sense.
You bought a bike, from an insurance company (State Farm), un-seen, no knowledge of how the bike looks or condition of any part of it. Thinking it would be like thrashed to hell and back so you can make it into a race bike. But it's in to good of a condition to make it a race bike,,,,,wouldn't that like save you money. Take good bike,,,,spend money to make what you want OR take a bike that you were expecting to be all messed up,,,,pump a bunch of money into it to take it out on the track.
If this is how it REALLY happened,,,,it sounds like to me that you were disappointed to find out that it was in better condition than what you thought. !!!!

I don't see how you say you can't jusitfy turning it into a race bike,,,,it makes more sense if it is better condition, than if it is totally ****ed. If you bought it with the purpose of a race bike, than why not make it one.
I would rather get a bike that has no or crappy bodywork , broken clip-ons or rear sets, banged up exhaust and a dented tank. Most of that stuff will be replaced to race prep the the bike. The price would be cheaper for intial buy in.
I dont enjoy paying 100% for a new bike and then having to buy tons of parts to make it a race bike. It may just be me but I would much rather find a bike that needs work in the first place.
